I understand people may still be looking for windshields? I have seen some of the posts about windshields from Gustoffaason as well. Yes, it doesn't fit
well and doesn't look stock. There is War Eagle as well, but based on the price, it is probably plain acrylic.
I have a tool to form and bore these windshields to OEM shape and fit. The problem is that I was planning on doing these in PolyCarb (the best material). The
one supplier I had couldn't do it (special process). My second source wanted waay too much. I am back to another source for forming these, but will be
using an Impact Modified Acrylic (same material as Gustoffaason). They still won't be too cheap, but they will fit and also come painted with the turbo

Is the Yamaha OEM windshield polycarbonate? Can you post a price for your acrylic windshield?

Yes the OEM was Polycarbonate. If you look at the lettering on the right front side that is lightly stamped into the windshield, you will see PC for polycarb. When I start producing these, I would not use straight acrylic - I would use an Impact Modified Acrylic. This material was not around back when these bikes were produced. IMA's have much better properties for impact resistance than standard acrylics. Give me a couple of days to update my pricing and I will get back. Brian |

I have an updated price on the windshield. Also, there is a new, stronger material available now. Still an Impact Modified Acrylic. It is a cell cast material, again the same as Gustaffson uses (they used to use Acrylic D now they use G). It is used in Aerospace applications so it is really good material. The price including the black painted area and "turbo" decal on the inside of the windshield would be $214 CAD, plus shipping. With a favourable exchange rate, it won't be too much more than the supplier above, but it will fit well, be drilled (so you won't have to buy a bit) and be completely finished. I can do up to 4" higher than stock for the same price. The curve of the extended height blends naturally into the curve of the OEM height as well. If anyone is interested, let me know. Thanks |

I have a good used Factory one that I might sell. It seems to be in pretty descent shape. Light scratches on it that I've been polishing on. I'm going
to put it up on e-Bay maybe. I figured I'd give you guys first chance at it. I'll have pics if somebody is interested.

I haven't had very good results either. I've tried Veter polish and Maguires plastic windshield polish. Cleans it up good but the scratches may need
sandpaper. I'm afraid to do that.

Hello all,
Ive got a smoked gray windscreen, and no bike to put it on. The fitment isn't super top notch, but I was able to get it to work without any grinding or re-drilling. The condition I would rate at about 90%. I have had some success buffing scratches out of this one previously, but under the direction of someone who had the know how and proper tools. Anyone interested ? Also, I have two original windscreens, yet they are scuffed pretty badly. So... if anyone has any 'hardcore' ideas that they are reluctant to test on their one-and-only, let me know and ill see what I can do. Shawn TheBriz9@Gmail.com |

I haven't tried to clean up my windshield yet. There is a kit that I use to get scratches out of aircraft windows. It's called Micro Mesh and it has
sand paper up 12,000 grit. I just cleaned the head lights on my car that were yellowed bad. They look like new. You start with a 1000 grit paper and work up to
the 12,000 grit. It is some good stuff. I'm just not sure about sanding the windshield since it is so flexable. The sanding will wear your arm out though.
